The Sunderdhunga trek, reaching an altitude of about 4320 meters, is a trekker's paradise, offering breathtaking views of majestic peaks like Maiktoli, Mrigthuni, Tharkot, and Panwalidwar. Regarded as one of the finest treks in Uttarakhand, it commences and concludes at Kathgodam, meandering through the picturesque Valley of Glaciers. This trail, often considered more challenging than its counterparts, Pindari Glacier and Kafni Glacier, is adorned with the beauty of Martoli and Sukhram's glaciers.

The name Sunderdhunga translates to a beautiful stone valley, showcasing the remarkable Martoli and Sukhram's glaciers. This trek unfolds a journey from the origin village, traversing ancient river paths to the Sunderdhunga base. Embark on a mesmerizing journey from Bageshwar to explore the pristine beauty of Sunderdhunga Glacier with this 8-day trek itinerary.

Day 1: Bageshwar Commence your adventure in Bageshwar, visiting the ancient Baghnath temple. Travel 40 kilometers by bus to Saung, followed by a 3-kilometer trek to Lohanhel.

Day 2: Khati After a hearty breakfast, trek 19 kilometers to Loharkhet. Reach Khati, the largest village in the region, nestled amidst the Nandakot peaks. Overnight stay in Khati.

Day 3: Jatoli Embark on a 14-kilometer trek from Khati to Jatoli, the last village en-route Pindari and Kafni glacier. Traverse through a Rhododendron-covered trail and spend the night in Jatoli.

Day 4: Kathaliya Prepare for a long day with a 13-kilometer trek to Kathaliya, crossing alpine covers. Reach the last inhabited village en-route Sunderdhunga glacier. Dinner and overnight stay in Kathaliya.

Day 5: Sunderdhunga Enjoy breakfast in Kathaliya and set off for Sunderdhunga. Opt for the steep route via Makoli Top or Sukhram Cave. Explore Sunderdhunga and return to Kathaliya. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Jatoli Commence your descent with a 13-kilometer trek to Jatoli, taking around 5 hours. Overnight stay in Jatoli.

Day 7: Dhakuri After a restful night, trek 14 kilometers back to Dhakuri. Enjoy an overnight stay in Dhakuri.

Day 8: Loharkhet and Bageshwar Embark on a 14-kilometer trek from Dhakuri to Loharkhet. Take a bus to Bageshwar, concluding this unforgettable trek in the charming town of Bageshwar.

Included:

Transportation: To Kathgodam to Destintion and Back To Kathgodam

Safety Equipment: First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkies, etc.

Accommodation: Provided from Day 1 to the Last Day. Accommodation includes tents/homestays/lodges, Camp triple sharing accommodation and separate arrangements for girls/ladies.

Meals: All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on the Last Day in Trekking. Food will be provided during the trek.

Permits/Forest Fees: Trekking permits and forest passes will be arranged.

Experienced Trek Leader & Team: Qualified trek leaders with basic/advanced mountaineering certifications, as well as support staff including cooks, helpers, and porters.

Excluded:

Food during Road Transit: Meals during transit from the pickup point to the trip starting point are not provided; trekkers must cover these costs themselves.

Mule and Porter Charges: Trekkers who opt to use mules or porters will incur an additional charge of Rs 350 per day.

Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses incurred during the trek are not covered.

Stay on the Last Day: The trek cost does not include accommodation on the last day.
